UK Architecture Firm Specializing in Timber Framing Using ADT

Timber Design is an design firm that specializes in timber framed architecture. Cameron Scott and his firm are doing some very innovative work with Architectural Desktop. Here are some of things Cameron described:

  • Using formula based property sets to sort the timber dimensions into width, depth and height.
  • Using other property sets to give the timber type, moisture content, item code and timber shape.  These are provided by classifications at the style level apart from the item code which is still done by hand.
  • Separate schedule tables are created for straight timbers and curved timbers which give item code, size, shape, timber type, no., and the volume of the timbers.  Also total no. of timbers and total volume.  Makes costing easy.
  • Cameron is also using MAX 6 to create high-end visuzalizations for his clients.
